Family days out in Manchester this summer

We might be biased but a summer in Manchester is as good as it gets. And whether you’re a local or new to the city, there are plenty of places to head outside, explore and enjoy quality time with loved ones. So, while you focus on the property search, we’ll help you out with some of our best-loved family-friendly spots to make the most of this summer in Manchester.

Heaton Park

It’s one of the largest municipal parks in Europe and there is plenty of space for picnics, a playground for kids and even a boating lake. Ideal for leisurely strolls and pre-planned family meetups, Heaton Park is the place to go for fresh air and nature.

Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens

Just a short drive from the city centre, over in Didsbury, Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens is a hidden gem. It’s a great spot for a peaceful stroll and is home to incredible green spaces and wildlife. If it’s a calm day out you want, look no further.

Museums

It might be summer in Manchester but that doesn’t mean there’s guaranteed sunshine. In fact, it’s more likely that there will be some grey days but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. The Manchester Museum has great exhibits – from dinosaurs to ancient Egypt and admissions are free. Then there’s the Science and Industry Museum, which is also free to get into, and has engaging shows for all ages. There’s even a sensory room for babies.

Legoland Discovery Centre

Another perfect choice for rainy days, the Legoland Discovery Centre in the Trafford Centre is great for younger kids. However, with interactive rides, workshops and creative activities, all ages will be kept busy.

At Kaytons, we know finding the perfect home isn’t just about the property. It’s about location and lifestyle too. But let us tell you that Manchester ticks all the boxes. So, if you need any help with your property search this summer, why not get in touch?
