While it may feel like it was Christmas just yesterday, Easter is already upon us – great news for all of the chocolate lovers out there! Whether you’re a chocolate snob or a Cadbury’s fan, Easter is definitely the best time to get choc-tastic. From the milkiest white through to bitter dark, no matter what your chocolate preference there’s an Easter egg with your name on it.
There are a huge range of speciality stores in Manchester where you can find chocolate eggs of all shapes, sizes and cocoa percentages. Whether you’re buying for someone special or just a sneaky treat for yourself, here are five of our favourite chocolate shops for all of your Easter chocolate needs.
Swiss chocolate makers, Lindt, have recently set up a store in Manchester’s Arndale Centre. You can choose from a wide range of their high quality chocolate truffles from their Pick and Mix section, plus they do gift boxes for a very special Easter treat.
Nestled in the Northern Quarter, Bon Bon Chocolate Boutique offers artisanal chocolates and truffles, as well as moreish cakes from their sister café, Teacup. This is the place to bring the chocolate connoisseurs in your life – you can spend the afternoon in the small café space where you can indulge on rich hot chocolates and one of their brownies. Death by chocolate, anyone?
With four stores located with Manchester, including one at the Trafford Centre, Hotel Chocolat offers a beautiful selection of delectable chocolates. From their set range of truffles, through to speciality Easter treats, you will have great difficulty choosing the perfect gift (and even more trouble deciding what you want to buy for yourself!)
For those who can’t go past a Cadbury Crème Egg, head to the Lowry Outlet store in Salford Quays. Here you can grab yourself a bargain or two (or more) with discount chocolate, including bags of misshapen chocolates that couldn’t be sold full price. This is a great way to treat your friend and family to their favourite chocolate treats at a reduced cost!
Located on Burton Road in West Didsbury, Cocoa-Cabana is owned and run by Sarah Gallacher who trained at Slattery’s before opening her own store. She hand makes her chocolates as well as selling top quality chocolate goods from all over the world. You can also enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and one of her seriously gooey chocolate cakes in store.
